Healthcare construction is unforgiving in a way ordinary commercial work is not. An operatory has to satisfy the BC Building Code, your college's requirements, your equipment supplier's tolerances and an infection-control standard, all at once — and it has to do that while feeling calm enough that a nervous patient will sit down in it. Getting those things to agree is the entire job.
So the process is deliberately narrow: plan the scope and the real budget before drawings begin, design to permit the first time, and build with every trade, inspection and deficiency managed in-house. You get weekly photo reports during construction, and at the end you get keys, a warranty package and as-builts — not a punch list and an invoice.
